Agra Lucknow Expressway is a 188 mi (302 km) highway constructed between cities of Lucknow and Agra in Uttar Pradesh. It belongs to 6-lane expressway and can be expandable up to 8-lanes in the future. The construction of this expressway is to get completed by 2016 end. The Expressway has been constructed to combat traffic issues prevalent in the highways and congested roads and to tackle pollution that increased because of the increased frequency of vehicles between these cities. There is also a plan to develop various townships all through this Expressway.

The Project cost was estimated to be around 1.6 billion dollars (105 billion INR). It can reduce the travel time to 3.30 hours from the existing 6 hours from Lucknow to Agra. Though the Expressway is going to be 6-lane wide, its structures like underpasses, minor and major bridges have already constructed in the form of 8-lane with an idea to expand the expressway near future.  Uttar Pradesh Government will finance for the proposal on minimum agricultural land and minimal distance formula. There is a plan for 2 agricultural mandis and 4 development centres or townships on this Expressway.  During February 2015, there was an announcement to construct International Airport at Kaanauj close to this Expressway. It is going to be the largest International Airport of UP and 2nd largest in North India to serve metropolises of Kanpur and Lucknow with flights towards America, Middle East and Europe and other topmost destinations. There is a proposal to name this airport after Captain Laskshmi Sehgal, the popular freedom fighter from Kanpur.
