The city of Lucknow is not only the capital of uttar Pradesh state, but is also famous with many names such as Golden City of the East, Land of Nawabs and Kababs, etc. Through the city, there is the river Gomti flowing and mangoes of the species Dasheri from Lucknow is well known all around the world. There are many other things in the city, for which it is well known and they are perfumes, silks, exoticness of the architecture, jewellery, poetry, dramas & theatres, cuisines, muharram celebrations, ethnic music, and a number of customs that belong to the nawabs. Plenty of non veg items are found in many street vending shops.

Indian Airlines provides flights connecting Lucknow with Delhi, Mumbai , Calcutta and Pune  

Shopping :

The cotton textiles in Lucknow are well known along with various zari works that are done on sarees, embroidery on different fabrics, and works of chikenkaari. Perfumes are well known in Lucknow. The main market areas in Lucknow are Janpath as well as Hazratganj. Gold and silver works such as brocades are famous here, along with a variety of figurines made of clay, silverware, and pottery.

Industries :

Plenty of large as well as medium level industries are available in lucknow, numbering 39. But majority of handcrafts are done in the small scale enterprises, which are 12058 in number and handicrafts making units are about 21895. The location of the city is superior as an industrial centre because it is having a stable economy and industrial centre. Good airport, many banks with their branches, and agricultural which is flourishing can be an oppoeutntiy. Some of the products with manufacturing units in and around Lucknow are paper products and the accessories, plastics, chemicals, locomotives and engineering of Tata, Scooters India Ltd, Meakins Breweries Limited, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Union Carbide Ltd, etc.

Lucknow City in Uttar Pradesh is one of the very mysterious cities because of the large number of lanes and roads that twist among each other. There are some imambaras,  Zardozi crafts, chikankari, and other things, there are also high standard restaurants, hotels, furnished showrooms, cyber cafes, clubs, pool parlours, discotheques, etc. Many infotech companies are coming into lucknow to open their branches in the city along with plenty of corporate houses.
