Dussheri is the most favourite variety among the different varieties of mangoes found here. Apart from Dussehri, such as Fazli, Chausa, Jauhari, Safeda, Lucknowa, etc. are the other varieties of mangoes that are grown here.
Malihabad is also famous for Nawab Faqueer Mohammad Khan 'Goya' who was a poet and courtier of Awadh. Other prominent people from Malihabad include shaayar-e-inquilaab, Shabbir Hasan Khan also called Josh Malihabadi who later moved to Pakistan, the tennis player, Ghaus Mohammad Khan and the writer, poet and stage artist, Anwar Nadeem.
Malihabad is situated at 26.92°N and 80.72°E. The average elevation of Malihabad is 128 metres (419 feet). The famous Urdu poet Hanif Akhgar who was also the President of Halqae Fanno adab (sicsic) orth America was born in Malihaabad.
The major income source of the region is the plantation of Dasheri mango. They are exported to many neighboring countries. This mango is very delicious and pipular for its soft pulp and sweetness. The Pathans developed the mango plantations under the patronage of the Nawabs of Lucknow.
